Site Selection Tips

Before beginning your search for a venue, site, or event facility, know the answers to the following questions:

• What is the main objective of your meeting or event?
• Do you have a good understanding of the history of this meeting/event?
• What are your physical requirements? How much space will you need? For meetings? For hospitality? For special events? For accommodations (hotel rooms)? For recreation?
• What expectations will your attendees have regarding the site?

Be sure to consider the following when searching for an appropriate event location:

• Type of Event: Corporate, Convention, Social
• Objective of Event: Motivation, Mingling, Team-building
• Attendees: Number, Demographics
• Affordability: Budget, Additional Costs
• Logistics: Power, Technological Capabilities
• Accessibility: Convenience, Location, Parking
• Exclusivity- Other Groups, Off-Premise Vendors
